Mood swings

I hate when you feel a certain way. When nothing has provoked the feeling, and nothing can distract you from it. You just feel that way.

I've had that recently. Nothing will happen, nobody will annoy me, and something hasn't upset me, but I just feel down. Down and out, and completely unwilling to participate in life. It sounds so awful to say; but it's true!

I hate that the chemistry in your brain can communicate and make you feel like the whole world is against you and there is no point in existing. That sounds so dark and depressing, but it's scary.

Depression is scary.

I am lucky that it is not something that has affected me, a close friend or anyone in my immediate family; but there is a hereditary link to depression, which does run in my extended family.

I have days where I feel like that is what I have come to, but in the scheme of things, I am a happy person, which I would perceive as being normal, everyone has days where they feel completely down on themselves, and everything.

My brain just thinks the worst of a situation, which is odd, because to other people they would say I see the best in a situation...

'Fake Friends'

One of the reasons I chose not to share this blog with anyone I know is so that I can post about things going on in my life, without people thinking it is directly linked to them, or our relationship.

Hence why I am now choosing to go on a ramble about fake friends.
In high school fake friends were those who almost had to pretend to be your friends for a variety of reasons;

  • You were in their group
  • You were in their class
  • You had to see them every day
But post school there is a choice. You get the distinct choice of who you wish to surround yourself with and who you wish to completely cut out of your life.

Unfortunately, I have experienced something completely different. I cannot understand how it is that it has not turned out how I thought it would.

So I have this friend, who I have known for a while. And.. lets call them Alex.

Alex has always had a fair group of friends, i was usually one of them, but that has been a bit of an on-off thing for the duration of school. Now that we've left school, I feel like more of a hassle than a friend. It seems a chore to have to catch up and I'm always the one putting in the effort.

Quite frankly friends are meant to make a mark on your life, mean something to you. Alex? Well Alex used to...

I don't know if its the hour of night, or the fact that I have come to terms with the fact that I don't need anything from fake friends.

But that's just me.

The Calm Before the Storm

Have you ever taken a minute to appreciate the moments before a storm hits?

It feels like nature is inhaling, pondering its next move, ready to unleash hell on the world below. There was a storm today. Mind you, that is now 'the norm' where I live. That's the third thunderstorm this week..

Storms are like a fantastic analogy for my brain half the time. I have to take a moment to think about my next move, but I usually then explode.
The moments after however, are truly a beautiful thing, especially if the sun comes out. It's like that second after you've really needed to go the bathroom for a while, and when you place your backside on that porcelain bowl of happiness, nothing is better. Speaking of, I have to pee

*Bathroom break, commence boring hold music*

As I was saying... well, I'd actually finished what I was saying, so this seems a good time to conclude my first post on my brand new blog!
