Support

There are times in everyone's life where they feel no good and like they have nobody to turn to. But today has been one of those days where I have taken a good second to think about the people I am surrounded by and how much they mean to me.

-This morning; I woke up to message from someone, just to say hi. Very few people will know how much that meant to me, as it was an old friend.
-Today I organised to meet up with two of my closest friends; simply being in their presence elevated my mood and I was happy to be there.
-Tonight, I told two good friends about my blog, and they both showed an immense amount of support and concern for my mental health (which was lovely, even though I am okay!)

So I have come to realise that the most important people in my life (besides family) I don't even have to stress about them being there, as I know they always will be.

Mood swings

I hate when you feel a certain way. When nothing has provoked the feeling, and nothing can distract you from it. You just feel that way.

I've had that recently. Nothing will happen, nobody will annoy me, and something hasn't upset me, but I just feel down. Down and out, and completely unwilling to participate in life. It sounds so awful to say; but it's true!

I hate that the chemistry in your brain can communicate and make you feel like the whole world is against you and there is no point in existing. That sounds so dark and depressing, but it's scary.

Depression is scary.

I am lucky that it is not something that has affected me, a close friend or anyone in my immediate family; but there is a hereditary link to depression, which does run in my extended family.

I have days where I feel like that is what I have come to, but in the scheme of things, I am a happy person, which I would perceive as being normal, everyone has days where they feel completely down on themselves, and everything.

My brain just thinks the worst of a situation, which is odd, because to other people they would say I see the best in a situation...

Terror.

So I'm not usually one to worry when there are bomb threats and protests, but today's events are hitting a little close to home.

When I heard from a friend that there was a hostage situation in Sydney, I figured that there was maybe another man with people that owed him money, and that's all he wanted.
That wasn't the case.

The purpose is to instil terror. Upon just about anyone and everyone. The object is to stop people from going about their daily business and watch with terror hence; terrorism.

This issue won't go away, and I do not understand why it exists. I am not a racist person, nor do I have any problem with a multicultural Australia. However; when you live in a country with dominating predetermined social values, you abide by them. Holding people hostage for the sake of your religious or political standpoint is not acceptable, nor necessary.

I pray that everything will be okay.

'Love is all you need...'

I have had one of the most interesting, yet draining, exciting, incredible weeks of my life. I feel like a lot happened, but what was a common factor within these events, was the amazing group of people I was surrounded by.

One thing that happened this week was when a close friend of mine went through a trying time. All they had was an immense amount of support, and all was okay. It truly goes to show how much the love and encouragement of the people around you can influence your life in so many ways.

'Love is all you need'. This quote comes from a good friend of mine, who feels its relativity also. It is true that if you are loved, and you give love, everything will be okay in the end, that is an understatement as far as I'm concerned, as the feeling of love, not necessarily romantically, but mostly in friendships and family, is one of the greatest things one can experience;

Besides sushi.

10 Reasons Why Retail Workers Smile All the Time

Working in retail for three years has taught me some very important life lessons; well not so much life lessons as simple indications that society has slowly evolved into a black hole of feeling entitled and being arrogant.

So here is my list of why retail workers always have a smile on their face when dealing with bothersome customers.

1. Because you can't judge us based on what clothes we wear, since we usually wear uniforms, on the other hand, your shoes don't match and I can see your underwear.

2. Because unlike the managers in our store, if you are a pain in the ass and wish to make a store complaint, it's on their backs, not mine.

3. Because your jokes aren't actually funny and there's something in your teeth.

4. Because the people around think I'm an angel for dealing with your crap in a polite manner.

5. Because I'm getting paid to window shop.

6. Because unlike you, I appreciate good customer service when I see it.

7. Because I did know where that item was, but I handed you off to someone else because I did not want to walk you there.

8. Because when you hand me a hundred dollar note, I feel like a boss ass bitch for a brief moment in time.

9. Because I know all the words to the songs that play and I'm not afraid to sing them in your ear.

10. Simply because it's store policy.
